KRR- The Beginning
Kandos Rylstone Community Radio inc. was formed in August 1993 (originally called TTT) with the first committee of Brian Neaves as President, Roger Heap as Vice President, Richard Fuller as Secretary, Sally Olofson as Treasurer, William Vanduin, Kuno Von Pralitz and Gary Williamson as ordinary committee members.
Kandos Rylstone Community Radio's first test transmission took place in January 1994 and broadcast for nine days from Saturday 8th till Sunday 16th from temporary studios at Kandos High School with borrowed equipment from 2MCR (Campbelltown Community Radio Station), from various other Communication and Broadcasting companies, as well as member's own personal equipment from home.
KRR FM purchased our own premises at 50 Angus Ave in June 1998 and began broadcasting full time 24 hours a day on September 13th 2001.
Kandos Rylstone Community Radio is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) and broadcast a wide range of programs with a dedicated team of volunteers to entertain and inform listeners of local news and events. Our radio station is self funded by sponsorship advertising as well as carrying out fund raising events. Where does KRR Transmit?
KRR transmits from Mount Coombermellon on a frequency of 98.7hz.
KRR FM broadcasting area covers most of the Cudgegong Valley including Kandos, Rylstone, Ilford, Clandulla, Lue, Mudgee, Gulgong and Glen Alice. KRR FM is always looking at ways to better serve our community such as improved transmission and studio equipment.

KRR is a music orientated station with programs covering a wide range like Country, Blue Grass, Jazz, Latest Rock, Classics from the 50's 60's 70's 80's & 90s all presented by a team of over 35 volunteers. Check our program for details.
